Thailand to Consider Change to Civil Servants Death Benefits Program.

Apr. 21--A proposal to allow civil servants to access up to 200,000 baht each in death benefits will be submitted for cabinet approval tomorrow, according to Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha.

If approved, some 237,000 retired civil servants will be eligible to access funds currently paid to beneficiaries upon death. The proposed change will allow eligible civil servants to withdraw up to 50 percent of their death benefits, up to a limit of 200,000 baht.
