FED:If Iraq dismantles weapons need for military action changes

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says the need for military action against Iraq would transformovernight if SADDAM HUSSEIN commits to weapons inspections and dismantling weapons ofmass destruction.

Mr HOWARD's comments follow more talk from United States officials of pre-emptive actionagainst Iraq.

He says no decision has been taken by the United States on military action against Iraq.

And he's repeated that the government would consider any US request to take part inmilitary action according to Australia's national interest.
