Fed: Hewson criticises govt's foreign policy and supports Labor
Former Liberal leader JOHN HEWSON has supported Labor's push for firm ties with Chinawhile attacking the government for an ailing foreign policy.
Opposition Leader SIMON CREAN last night proposed a new agreement with China on closerpolitical, economic and social ties as the centrepoint of Labor's new foreign policy.
Dr HEWSON, executive director of the Asia Australia Institute, has told ABC radio MrCREAN highlighted the need to re-engage with Asia.
Dr HEWSON says the government's greatest failing in foreign policy right now is thatAustralia is effectively excluded from all the new and emerging Asian groupings and regroupings.
