New SMC formulated for HVAC applications.(engineering materials)

IDI Composites International has developed a UL-approved sheet moulding compound specifically for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning market. Its corrosion resistance makes SMC E5V-204 suitable as a replacement for rust-prone galvanised sheet metal air conditioning drain pans.

To create the new material, US-based IDI worked with Suburban Plastics, a specialist in parts for the HVAC market. SMC ESV-204 was formulated specifically to meet the demands of air conditioning drain pans.
